Sound Waves: Introduction, definitions of Period, frequency, amplitude, time period, wave, mechanical wave, Doubly periodic wave,   Progressive Waves, characteristics or progressive waves, transverse and longitudinal waves and their properties, relation between velocity, wavelength and frequency.

3. Refraction of light; 1) Definition of refraction of light, 2) Laws of refraction and Snell's law, 3) Relative and absolute refractive index, 4) Total internal reflection and critical angle, 5) Optical fibre, 6) Prism formula, 7) Problems based on above topics
